A story about the creation of the sun and the purpose of the sun rising in the east and setting in the west. It is the story of night and day and helps to pass on Aboriginal culture and the dreaming to future generations.

The book is based on a story told by David Mowaljarlai of the Ngarinyin people to Aboriginal children living in the Kimberley, Western Australia and compiled by Pamela Lofts. The illustrations are adapted from their paintings of the story. David Mowaljarlai said, "We want our children to see the daylight and the sun go down on our land, the home of the Dreamtime, and to live there to their old age and really understand their culture." The story evokes concepts of how important natural elements are and the triumph of good over evil.
